Doing More with Less: Detection and Response Planning for 2021

Despite a year of “new normals,” one thing that most teams can still count on this fall is annual security planning. However, this year, in addition to supporting growing remote workforces, many SOCs are facing increased budget scrutiny and pressure to demonstrate ROI as they go into 2021.

During this webcast we will explore key considerations and strategies for 2021 detection and response planning, ways Rapid7 can help drive increased efficiency and project prioritization tips to help future- proof your security operations going into the new year.

The webcast will cover:

  • Planning best practices
  • How to drive efficiency with a detections first model
  • Why SOC Automation is the way of the future (and the present)
  • What we believe 2021 holds for security in the cloud

Join Rapid7, Product Marketing Manager, Margaret Wei and SANS analyst, Jake Williams as they help security teams around the globe, prepare for the future.

A CISOs guide to Security Planning

The Cybersecurity industry’s resource gap has been well documented over the years, but in 2020 we've seen that gap widen. The attack surface has grown with remote workforces and a slew of new applications, but in many cases budgets are tightening and teams are wearing many hats.

However getting buy-in from leadership can pose additional challenges for your team as you try to get final budget approval to move these important projects forward.

To help, we asked former Information Security Officer, turned Rapid7 Detection and Response Practice Advisor, Jeffrey Gardner to share how he found success in his previous roles. Tune in to learn how to:

  • Build a compelling case
  • Present with confidence (and evidence)
  • Ultimately secure your budget

SOC Automation 101: The Future of Detection and Response

Today’s security operations–whether part of a formal SOC or not–require IT and Security teams to identify and address threats as quickly and decisively as possible. The growing list of threats, along with their methods of entry, techniques used, and means of detection and resolution have grown to a point where it’s nearly impossible to address manually.

In this session, Sydney Coffaro, Senior Technical Advisor, SOAR and Jeffrey Gardner, Practice Advisor from Rapid7 will discuss some of today’s most prevalent threats (such as Ryuk ransomware and the Gh0st remote access trojan) and demonstrate how automating common tasks that are manually performed everyday by incident responders can be used to simplify the detection and response to threats.

In addition, they will discuss how to justify Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) solutions to automate security operations tasks, as well as provide guidance on how to get started using automation and prioritizing the work of automating security operations.
