With sprawling IT environments, multi-cloud infrastructures, and the reliance on IT for all facets of business, security is caught in an endless struggle to keep up with mountains of data from disparate sources, distinguish the signal from the noise to zero in on the real threats, and respond quickly to incidents. As a recent Ponemon study found, these challenges are having a real impact on security professionals, with 65% of them indicating they are stressed out and thinking of leaving their jobs.
In this talk, we will explore the sources of complexity that are leaving security analysts struggling to use their skills to have the greatest impact. We will then discuss the opportunity to improve the effectiveness of analysts by bringing together the right telemetry, analytics and workflows to crack the code of finding more threats and improving containment and remediation through faster response. Drawing on insights and learnings from the Rapid7 research department and managed detection and response team, you will learn the best practice for incorporating data sources that give you the best source of signal for high-quality detection and those that are critical to quick response. We will also share how streamlining investigation and response tasks can reduce the burden on your team and begin breaking the cycle of SOC exhaustion.
